What a lovely image right! | this is the view you get from the NP 360 Cable Car between Tung Chung and Ngong Ping where the Big Buddha and Po Lin Monastery are located on Lantau Island in Hong Kong.
The ride is 25 minutes and is just awesome.
This is my Hong Kong | One of the best cable car rides in the world I would imagine.
I always get a bit peeved when people describe the Lantau Island excursion of :-
NP 360 Cable Car
The Big Buddha
The Po Lin Monastery
The Tai O Fishing Village
as touristy or a tourist trap.
I have done this day out hundreds of times and I just love it but then again I am a very experienced Private Tour Guide and I know how to make it a great day out whilst avoiding the pitfalls that are well documented and very, very annoying.
My best tip that I can give you if you are doing it on your own……
Go to the Tai O Fishing Village first by bus or blue taxi from Tung Chung, after the Tai O Fishing Village (and do stop for lunch at the Tai O Heritage Hotel) go to the Big Buddha at Ngong Ping and come down on the cable car from the Big Buddha to Tung Chung no later than 3.30pm and book a crystal cabin, this makes for a very pleasant and stress free day and I worked this out after lot’s of trial and error on my part!
