A day visit to Cheung Chau Island on your Premium Private Tour of Hong Kong

J3 Private Tours Hong Kong | A day out at Cheung Chau Island, Hong Kong

One of my very favourite places to visit in Hong Kong, on a sunny day I cannot think of anything better to do than take the slow ferry to Cheung Chau Island.

Have a look at |

  • my tour offering

  • all of the images that I have taken on the Island (and going there!) over the years.

  • An opinion from Sassy Magazine in Hong Kong | Go here Cheung Chau Island

After weeks of heavy rain, seemingly on a daily basis, sunshine returns to Hong Kong.

J3 Private Tours Hong Kong | The nasty weather seems to have gone and the sunshine returns

I have lived in Hong Kong for 46 years so there is nothing about the weather that really surprises me anymore but I have to say that August 2018 was a very depressing month, it seemed like it rained every day and 3 to 4 inches a day was common.

Doing what I do heavy rain puts a crimp on the tour, sometimes I get lucky and the rain relents during the tour and then returns in the evening!

Hong Kong gets tropical rain and we also have typhoons but on the whole the weather in Hong Kong is never really extreme and you can plan for rain but look at the image above, this is my sort of day,

The crazy, crazy world of Celebrity Private Tutors in Hong Kong

J3 Private Tours Hong Kong | Celebrity Private Tutors in Hong Kong, they earn crazy money.

The top Private Tutor in Hong Kong earns almost US$10 Million per year which is a breath taking amount given that his clients are pimply 15 and 16 year old's!

Have a read of the article above which gives you all the relevant facts and figures, what I find very odd is that the kids themselves have a huge say in choosing the Tutor and the first image shows the criteria involved.

  • both the male and female tutors have to be young (generally)

  • they have to dress well in the latest fashions

  • they have to look like pop stars

  • they have to have Facebook | Snapchat | Twitter | Instagram accounts with huge followings

  • they have to be the epitome of cool which is probably the most important consideration

So here's the thing... our local Chinese Kids do a make or break exam called the DSE (Diploma of Secondary Education) just have a look here at the 2018 results for the DSE Exam  | it seems that the pass rate this year was only 38% and of the 21,000+ candidates that passed they are chasing just 15,000 publicly funded University places! and this is despite most of the kids using the rock star private tutors.

Something to think about.

Lots of women drive a Ferrari in Hong Kong which is awesome...

J3 Private Tours Hong Kong | Women driving a Ferrari in Hong Kong, a lot more common than you think.

Crazy Rich Asians | I love the fact that women in Hong Kong have impeccable taste in cars as you can see from the image above... the lady driving an awesome Ferrari and this will be her car as well, now, the colour is a little iffy but she really has great taste in cars.

Hong Kong is very status orientated so it is hardly surprising that women drive fancy cars, simply brilliant. Yahoo!

Crazy Rich Asians | They should have set the original movie in Hong Kong, our rich folk are way crazier than their Singapore brethren.

One of my favourite images.

I took this image in Peninsula Hotel in Hong Kong which is one of our grandest most iconic 5 star hotels, these four young ladies swept through the lobby without a care in the world and they certainly turned a few heads, mine included.

Rich Hong Kong people love and I mean love to flaunt their wealth and why not? I love the fact that they spend obscene amounts of money on fancy cars, jewellery, watches and such which makes life much more interesting for me as it gives me lots to talk about with my clients.

Oh my golly gosh, the simply amazing Pagani Zonda Absolute - this is a custom made car and is rumoured to be the only one of it's kind in the world and it is in Hong Kong!... oh... and yes, this is my picture, talk about being in the right place at the right time.
