Hong Kong Tours | The saddest sight in Hong Kong, abandoned rickshaws

Storage lockers in Central, the biggest lizard I have seen in Hong Kong and one of the best male toilets in Hong Kong

On sale since 2007 and still no takers

It would not be hard to steal one of these rickshaws which are located very close to the Star Ferry Pier in Central on Hong Kong Island. The chap trying to sell them is not having much luck at all, probably because he is asking a small fortune for one... Like the fishing junk the rickshaw has always an iconic image of Hong Kong - not anymore

Pretty handy storage lockers but hard to find.

Storage lockers around town are always handy ( I have yet to research this subject) and yesterday at Pier No. 3 at the Central Piers on Hong Kong Island I came across some. Pier No. 3 is where you catch the ferry to Discovery Bay on Lantau Island. Now you know.

The biggest lizard I have ever seen in Hong Kong

There must be something in the water at Discovery Bay on Lantau Island, I saw this tricky little blighter scooting across a path, this is by far the biggest lizard I have come across in all my time in Hong Kong, it will probably take your leg off...

I wish public toilets looked like this - they don't

I wish public toilets looked like this - they don't

I just happened to be in the Auberge Hotel a new Hotel in Discovery Bay on Lantau Island ( I will do a little piece on this Hotel in the next few days) and I must say I was very impressed with the Gents - all marble, spotless and everything worked, it even outdoes the Mandarin Oriental and Peninsula Hotel male toilets, very impressive... oh and not a bathroom attendant in sight which was another good thing, there is something very annoying about bathroom attendants creeping around expecting a tip for turning on a tap and handing you a paper towel.

Like most male toilets in Hong Kong the missing link is elevator music played at a decent volume, it drives me crazy when you are in a bathroom here and you can hear a fly fart at 20 yards, why does the Hotel Management assume that blokes are happy to hear those sounds ... just nasty.

The Peak, front on view

The Peak, front on view

This is a front on view of the Peak on Hong Kong Island.. the twin towers of the Shun Tak Centre are home to the Macau Ferry Terminal (and Helipad for the helicopter service to Macau). I love the view from the Peak.
