The concrete ship in the middle of Whampoa Gardens, a private housing estate in Hung Hom, lining up for very average cookies and riding a motorbike in Hong Kong.
OK, so a lot of my images are fancy cars but it is not just cars, I take photo's every day as there is always something going on in Hong Kong.. oh, my obsession with cars and car number plates started with my interest in the "lucky numbers" which are an integral part of Hong Kong culture. I probably won't slow down until I have 100,000 images!
The Harbour Grand Kowloon Hotel ( a popular hotel with visitors ) is just around the corner from this rather bizarre sight of a huge concrete cruise ship parked in the middle of a private housing estate called Whampoa Gardens. I imagine that this ship is a nod to the the old shipbuilding works (Whampoa Dockyards) in the area in the good old days... it is a shopping mall by the way!
Jenny bakery in Hong Kong makes distinctly average butter cookies, they are not a patch on the very popular Danish cookies from Denmark but this does not stop Mainland Chinese Tourists lining up (a line of 200 / 300 is normal) to buy 20 tins (yes, tins) of cookies for resale back in China. It is all a bit odd
The expats here do love their motorbikes and mostly I get a smile and a wave.. as is typical here, status is everything and by far the most popular brand is Ducati - the Moto Guzzi in the image is a nice bike mind.... and not many guys wear leathers.
I am getting quite good at capturing the essence of the crowded buses here.. yes, it is route 23 and it seems no matter how many buses they add to the route demand remains strong.. it does not look very comfortable does it.
That's my shadow on the superb Audi RS 6 - love the grille!
