One Dim Sum Restaurant - excellent food, cheap prices = a winner

The HK$818,00 silver dragon paperweight,  a man with a gigantic tattooed arm and the new electric "noddy" police motorbike...

Bloody good food and cheap!

One Dim Sum Restaurant is a fairly new Dim Sum restaurant located about 5 minutes from Prince Edward MTR Station in Mongkok, Kowloon.

Yesterday a friend and I decided to give it a whirl, lines are standard, we arrived at 1.30pm and had to wait for 30 minutes which is fine.

Here are my thoughts:-

  • we tried 11 dishes (!) and the bill was HK$178 (US$23) which was remarkably cheap
  • the food was excellent, we did not get a bad dish
  • service was swift and the food was hot
  • you get a choice of tea, tea and tea... next time I will bring my own drink
  • no language issues, they have an English menu with pictures
  • the place is small and cosy and packed, this was not an issue

All in all, well worth a visit and at the prices they charge you cannot complain!

This lucky silver dragon "paperweight" is available for the princely sum of HK$818,000! cobwebs and all!

I was totally gobsmacked by the size of this blokes arm, it was humongous, this guy was as old as I am.. I was very impressed!

This new police bike is truly awful and it's electric.

I just love my new camera, no zoom for the lens but the sensor / lens are so good you just crop with no loss of image quality - ICC and the West Kowloon District as taken from Hong Kong Island.

A very sweet car, the Porsche Carrera GTS, parked at the Peninsula Hotel

Another example of cropping with no loss of image quality - Cheung Kong Centre in CentRal, headquarters to the 7th richest bloke in the world... Li Ka Shing.

I do private walking tours around Hong Kong, I am on the streets every day and I have a somewhat interesting perspective of this wonderful city I have called my home for 38 years. My private walking tours are perfect for visitors who want a detailed overview of Hong Kong prior to exploring on their own and for people who are only here for a day or two who want to make the most of their limited time here.

Many clients book me for their first full day in Hong Kong, they get to see the best that Hong Kong has to offer + a crash course on our wonderful public transport system and then they go exploring for the rest of their stay armed with step by step instructions and recommendations from me....

I am available at very short notice, I get many last minute bookings and may well be available even if you arrive in Hong Kong without making plans! so please check my calendar, if it says I am free then I am available to do a tour!! Simply send me a message for a prompt reply

...oh, and if you book a tour then you are booking a tour with me, I do not employ other guides.

All images taken with a Sony RX 1r camera - it produces amazing images!
