More Golden Orb spider pictures taken with some risk to myself!, the house belonging to the Kingdom of Morocco and the "true" Peak in Hong Kong
a.k.a Highcliff and The Summit - 2 residential properties located on Stubbs Road on the island leading to the Peak - simply magnificent (and even more so on a lovely sunny day) they look fragile and you feel they could topple over at any moment.
For myself, I would have no issues at all living here as long as it was a corporate rental and someone else picked up the tab... we are looking at US$18,000 - US$22,000 per month... and you get some amazing views.
Sometimes I can be a bit daft when it comes to getting "the shot" and yesterday I was very daft, normally I come across the Golden Orb when it is on the "back" of the web so I am confident it cannot leap on to my face, I saw an opening here so I contorted myself to get a view of the back of the web (and there was a huge black orb 6 feet above my head!) - zooming in does not really work as the spider will not focus so I have found I can get the best images from just getting very, very close... what a beautiful spider.
Oh yes, we could live here, a lovely large house on Peak Road on the way to the Peak and it was a big surprise to learn that the house is "owned" by the Kingdom of Morocco - I assumed Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar..... you can never tell can you.
This is the top of Victoria Peak or the Peak as we call it, I took this image from Victoria Peak Garden.. a real shame that the natural beauty of the Peak has been destroyed by this facility.
I will be doing another short piece soon on the Opus - this is the Opus on Stubbs Road on Hong Kong Island and the number one address in Hong Kong (so we are led to believe) - what an amazing apartment block and look at that blue sky.
I am getting quite interested in macro photography and I have to say that this is not a bad effort at all considering I have a simple point and shoot Olympus XZ - 1, the bug was very obliging, it did not move a muscle.
Got a wave from the lovely young lady driving this great car - I love Porsche cars
I almost got squished by 2 buses in my quest to get this image taken on Peak Road, more to follow on the magnificent views from this spot.
Yesterday was a day to bring tears of joy to your eyes.... 32oC and 60% humidity and a gorgeous blue sky... lovely photo don't you think?
I am still trying to figure out how to cadge a free ride on the Peninsula Hotel Helicopter
I do personal walking tours around Hong Kong, I am on the streets every day and I have a somewhat interesting perspective of this wonderful city I have called my home for 37 years. My private walking tours are perfect for visitors who want a detailed overview of Hong Kong prior to exploring on their own and for people who are only here for a day or two who want to make the most of their limited time here.
Many clients book me for their first full day in Hong Kong, they get to see the best that Hong Kong has to offer + a crash course on our wonderful public transport system and then they go exploring for the rest of their stay armed with step by step instructions and recommendations from me....
I am available at very short notice, I get many last minute bookings and may well be available even if you arrive in Hong Kong without making plans! so please check my calendar, if it says I am free then I am available to do a tour!! Simply send me a message for a prompt reply
...oh, and if you book a tour then you are booking a tour with me, I do not employ other guides.
