Doing what I do I hate rainy days, 26th July 2013 - a typical rainy day, 2 or 3 quite heavy showers, 6.5cm of rain in 24 hours and lots of horrible drizzle
Yuk!
We get a lot of rain in Hong Kong and this week is typical, yesterday was our 3rd day in a row of heavy rain and depressing is not quite the right word, doing what I do rain is a challenge but luckily we get heavy showers with drizzle in between.. funny how the heaviest rain is ALWAYS between 8am - 9am and 6pm - 7pm as people are heading to or leaving work!
6.5cm rain is quite a fair bit... in the past few months we have had days where we have had 25cm of rain in 24 hours so yesterday wasn't that bad!
Anyway, here are some images from a typical Hong Kong rainy day,
You just have to get on with it
Not much point hanging the washing out
Try catching a taxi when it rains
Gridlock
Good job our drains work
Abject misery for those with outdoor jobs
Some people just look good holding an umbrella
Most kids like making a splash when it rains, not this studious young fellow
Not a good day to be on a scooter
Some places look brilliant in heavy rain - the Chi Lin Nunnery in Diamond Hill
Moody and atmospheric - The Peak
