An interesting view from Cotton Tree Drive, another look at the elephant art in Statue Square and the poor rich people apartments in the Mid Levels and travel like a local in Hong Kong
Sometimes buildings look even more impressive from afar and this view of IFC 2 (the one with the claws at the top) is quite striking... I took it from within Hong Kong Park and the jungle setting in the foreground makes for a nice contrast.
IFC 2 is 88 floors so that makes it our 2nd tallest building.
I like watching the traffic going up Cotton Tree Drive, there are always plenty of nice cars charging up the hill. The brown building in the background with the weeds growing out of the side is the office of our Chief Executive.
An alternative view of this great piece of art in Statue Square in Central District on Hong Kong Island
I would love to live in one of these apartments, this is the mid levels and it is where a lot of lawyers and bankers live.. it is mainly corporate rentals so a 3,000 sqft apartment can have a rental well in excess of HK$100,000 per month and that is at the cheaper end of the scale.
If you are feeling down and you want a mood altering substance then head to the Mandarin Oriental Chocolate shop / cafe in Central.. they have some exquisite chocolates, they are not cheap HK$20 per small square but boy are they good.
One of the exotic birds on display in the Aviary in Hong Kong Park... the Aviary is one of Hong Kong's best kept secrets, where else can you get so close to uncommon birds? and no, this is not a Norwegian Blue Parrot
