Many people struggle to make a living in Hong Kong... current minimum wage is HK$30 per hour (about US$3.75) but I imagine many people earn less. Every day on the streets when I see these folk I count my blessings.

It is actually Pearl the fat vampire from the brilliant movie Blade, he did not die, he went on a diet and came to Hong Kong, he is biding his time waiting to be released from captivity.

Before you ask, this is not me before I went on a diet, this is Pearl one of the most disgusting and memorable movie characters ever... he is a vampire.

A fairly typical fire station located  at the back of the Immigration Department in North Wanchai... these guys do a terrific job in very difficult circumstances.

I have this great setting on my Olympus which essentially stops motion dead in it's tracks with no blurring, you have to love these new fangled camera's as trying to do this manually means that more often than not (unless you are a pro) you are not going to get the shot

Actual angling with rods and reels has become quite popular here although you are not going to break any records catching fish in our harbour, it is nice to see people really get into this peaceful and thought provoking pastime.
