It is not a good time to be a chicken, girls on the beach and a fabulous Bentley
Well blow me down with a rubber duck (oops... sorry, feather) is this the new Hong Kong taxi? I have seen articles about Ford supplying new cabs for the Hong Kong market in late 2013 but I have seen nothing about the Toyota Prius Hybrid. I spotted this at the Grand Hyatt Hotel.
Now, I am not a fan of the Prius but trust me, anything is better than the Toyota Crown we currently have.. the only problem I see is that this is a 4 seater, they really should have chosen a model to seat 5, our current cabs are 5 seaters (but really 4 as 5 large people have no chance of fitting in to the cab!)
I have now seen 2 in 2 days. Yahoo.
I often wonder (for about a millisecond) what the live chickens think when they see their buddies strung up like this, I doubt the phrase "Fred has gone to a better place" comes to mind. In Hong Kong people are naturally worried about the new bird flu virus that is circulating in Mainland China and our Government refuses to do the right thing which is to ban the sale of live poultry in Hong Kong. Like I said, not a good time to be a chicken or a chicken vendor for that matter.
It was 29oC today and the sun was shining and again Repulse Bay was largely deserted. I have previously written about this, Hong Konger's for the most part have stopped going to Repulse Bay which is a great beach and gorgeous setting primarily due to the hordes (some say an infestation) of Mainland Chinese tourists swarming on to the beach all day for their 15 minutes in the sun (and a quick paddle).
It was nice then to see these 3 local ladies having a spot of fun in the sun.
I never really thought of the Bentley Continental GT as a ladies car until I saw a ravishingly beautiful woman driving this puppy... she was all diamonds and a Hermes scarf and flashed a smile at me taking the picture an then roared off into the sunset. WOW!
This work of "art" is beginning to get on my nerves, it seems every shop you go in now has small ducks on sale, this is going to end up being like Hello Kitty, it won't be long before Chow Tai Fook does a line of duck jewellery and Louis Vuitton does an edgy and limited edition bag and the icing on the cake temporary duck tattoo's for the ladies.
It would appear that it will be floating at the Ocean Terminal for another 3 weeks unless someone blows it up first... I imagine it is visible from the Space Station., you can certainly see it from the Peak.
