Hong Kong Winterfest 2013 - truly awful, the fastest custom made suit in the world and the world's most dangerous bike.
Just about everyday at the junction of Nathan Road and Mody Road in TST a very large line forms and it took me a while to figure out what the people were queuing for - cookies, yes cookies!
It would appear that a company in Mirador Mansions offers for sale the world's most yummilicious cookies which appeal to the Mainland Chinese palette... retailers around the World would kill for a line like this every day.
I am not an old curmudgeon, I love Christmas and last year in Statue Square we had an absolutely brilliant Tiffany sponsored Christmas display.
This is the exact blurb by the organisers of this years Christmas display:-
"May your dreams come true this holiday season under Hong Kong’s newest Christmas centrepiece, WISH. Depicting three contemporary dandelions losing their seeds in the wind, Hong Kong’s dramatic Christmas sculpture soars more than 15 metres in the air, constantly changing colours to music in a specially choreographed seasonal installation at Statue Square. So come and make a wish for your loved ones this holiday season - wherever they may be - and let WISH carry your wishes on the wind.
What’s more, you can come and have your photo taken with Santa Claus at the American Express Wondrous Santa House."
I would love to know what dandelions have got to do with Christmas.
This has to go down as the most pathetically stupid and meaningless Christmas display in the history of Christmas celebrations since time began.
What is wrong with just displaying a gigantic Christmas Tree like they used to?
I do personal walking tours around Hong Kong, I am on the streets every day and I have a somewhat interesting perspective of this wonderful city I have called my home for 38 years. My private walking tours are perfect for visitors who want a detailed overview of Hong Kong prior to exploring on their own and for people who are only here for a day or two who want to make the most of their limited time here.
Many clients book me for their first full day in Hong Kong, they get to see the best that Hong Kong has to offer + a crash course on our wonderful public transport system and then they go exploring for the rest of their stay armed with step by step instructions and recommendations from me....
I am available at very short notice, I get many last minute bookings and may well be available even if you arrive in Hong Kong without making plans! so please check my calendar, if it says I am free then I am available to do a tour!! Simply send me a message for a prompt reply
...oh, and if you book a tour then you are booking a tour with me, I do not employ other guides.
