The garden is attached to the Chi Lin Nunnery, the infamous red bridge, lots of bonsai trees and a haven for stone connoisseurs

The infamous red bridge (and yes, it is bright orange)
Like the Chi Lin Nunnery this is a visual treat so less text and more images - you really need to visit this place.

Just lovely on a sunny day

A nice contrast

This is the Nan Lian Rock despite what the sign in the grass says and it is polished by hand!

Trimming is taken very seriously

There is a very large koi pond

Up close and personal at the red bridge!

Behind the waterfall is a veggie restaurant run by the Nuns

Most of the trees on show are NOT native to Hong Kong

Be creative, be very creative!

Nice waterwheel

Down boy... a Fu Dog

Some stunning scenery just waiting for you
Visiting the Nan Lian Garden and attached Chi Lin Nunnery is a must, located in Diamond Hill in Kowloon a bit of an effort is required to get there but it is worth it and during the week it is very quiet.
...oh, and do not forget to visit the Rockery!
I do personal walking tours around Hong Kong, I am on the streets every day and I have a somewhat interesting perspective of this wonderful city I have called my home for 37 years. My private walking tours are perfect for visitors who want a detailed overview of Hong Kong prior to exploring on their own and for people who are only here for a day or two who want to make the most of their limited time here.
Many clients book me for their first full day in Hong Kong, they get to see the best that Hong Kong has to offer + a crash course on our wonderful public transport system and then they go exploring for the rest of their stay armed with step by step instructions and recommendations from me....
...oh, and if you book a tour then you are booking a tour with me, I do not employ other guides.
