I was in a very buoyant mood today, we are having a run of lovely weather at the moment and today it was simply glorious, boy it was hot with the temperature up at 33oC but the humidity dropped to 60% and it was crystal clear... this is a just about a perfect image of the Peak from the corner of Canton Road in TST, Kowloon. Sometimes a picture does not do a view justice this is one such image - it was so clear and the view was simply awesome. This is my spot at the Peak and if you look you will see that bloody yellow rubber duck floating next to Ocean Terminal.

Today was a great day to do bug spotting at the Peak, the 4 images shown represent the most interesting bugs we saw... I am now counting down the days to coming across the Golden Orb spider and getting more great images.

Let's hope it doesn't explode

Let's hope it doesn't explode

This is the BYD E6 Taxi, and quite snazzy it is... this is the first time I have seen one and like the Toyota Prius it is much, much nicer than the awful Toyota Crown we have had for decades. This is an electric taxi so one must plug it in.... There have been issues with this car in the past year, it is a Mainland Chinese Car and manufactured in China and it hasn't helped that a few of them exploded, a minor quibble (one hopes)

It would appear that about 1,000 of these are scheduled to arrive in Hong Kong over the next 12 months.. my only issue, this car and the Prius only seat 4 passengers and not 5 (and that is optimistic) still I am impressed, we need decent cabs here. Yahoo

The Lippo Centre

The Lippo Centre

The famous twin towers of the Lippo Centre, I have a love affair with this building going back to the late 1980's - today it was simply majestic, the line on the image is not an error, I actually stuck my head out of a tram to take this picture, it is an electric wire..

oh.. and in case I have never mentioned it, the design of the building is based on Koala's climbing a tree.... and this picture is a raw image, no manipulation.
